Tips Before Moving Abroad!
Tax Agency
When you are moving abroad, you need to report your move to the Tax Agency if you plan to be abroad for more than 1 year. The Tax Agency will inform other authorities such as your municipality and county council about your move.
Social Insurance Agency
If you are moving abroad for more than 1 year and are not posted abroad by your Swedish employer, you should also report your move to the Social Insurance Agency. In this case, you will be deregistered from the Swedish social insurance system. It can be beneficial to find out how your social insurance will work in the new country you plan to move to. Often, this is not as complicated if you are moving within the EU, EEA, or Switzerland.
